When I was a wet behind the ears handicapper, many long years ago, I used to peruse/study the pps for hours every evening prior to raceday. But all that work, all that effort, usually came to naught, and my frustration grew intensely over the weeks & months & years of my attempt to become a winning horseplayer.
Then, one day (actually two days in a row), I found myself sitting next to an older fellow (52ish, I would guess, which I considered ancient at that time as I was in my early 20s), and it seemed that race after race, he was cashing tickets. I asked him how long he’d been playing — he said 31 years. I asked him how he seemed to hit so many payoffs.
👉👉😃And with that question I learned one of the most important handicapping lessons in my brief career.
‘Well,’ he said, ‘I see just by observing your play, and all the scribbling on your pps, that you have not tuned into one of the most important essentials of handicapping of all. You are trying to handicap the entire field. Here’s the Key:
‘Just about every professional in the racing game will tell you that they begin the handicapping process by eliminating non-contenders.
👉👉’In most races 50% or more of the field can be eliminated with a 90% Certainty. So in a 10 horse race, using proven elimination methodology, handicappers are left with just five horses to look at, often less. They then study the remaining ‘contenders’ to determine if they have a play.
‘If you cannot eliminate at least one half of the field, then the race is likely too tough to handicap, and you just leave it alone. There will be plenty of races where you will be able to get the field down to just a few major contenders, and you will not be wasting your time on horses who have virtually no chance to win.’
So, honestly, while I still had a lot of learning to do, his suggestions (along with the elimination criteria info, which is programmed in here and included in the user’s manual) literally allowed me to jump years ahead in the handicapping game and realize my dream of profiting from the horses. Not getting rich, of course, almost no one does that in this game, but profiting often enough to make a positive change in my lifestyle.
👉👉Much of this Methodology is courtesy of Bert Norman, who was one of the first well-known handicappers/authors to drum the value of eliminating losers into his followers’ brains.
👉And the beauty of this software is that it doesn’t eliminate a horse just because the morning line odds are long, which some elimination methodologies do. Instead, it manages to keep likely price horses in the mix, thus the very high on the board hit rate experienced by longer priced runners.
“While I have relied on my Tru-Tenders program for ages to eliminate non-contenders, the EZ-Elimination Software works equally as well if not better. One thing for sure, it leaves ‘live’ longshots as contenders & often with some very pricey results!” Tom Console

“This program does and knows what 90%+ of the Betting Public Doesn’t: How to Eliminate Non-Contenders in a Flash! And I am absolutely floored at some of the price horses that win and hit the board. There is definitely something going on here, but I don’t know exactly what it is. But I’m thankful for it, that’s for darned sure!” Darryl Hudson, Professional Handicapper, Miami, FL

From Dave Henry, Hot Springs, AR: ‘So I did what you suggested and looked at five different tracks to log results for place and show horses at bigger odds. I was truly amazed at how many longer priced selections hit the board. Remember, I am excluding the many pricey winners, just place and show here. Look:
Turfway: Be Aria, 3rd 31/1, Baytown Bama, 2nd 14/1, Ghost Bike, 2nd 8/1, Sweet Baby Ray, 2nd 5/1, Sensible Choice, 3rd 21/1, Go Nuts, 3rd 24/1, Vino Caldo, 3rd 12/1.
Oaklawn: OP Firecracker, 3rd 12/1, Moneystrike, 2nd 7/1, Tropic Storm, 3rd 22/1, Mozingo, 3rd 13/1, Delphia, 2nd 14/1, Business As Usual, 2nd 13/1.
Tampa: Mean Streets, 3rd 13/1, Fluffy, 2nd 12/1, West Saratoga & Rathmore, 2nd & 3rd in same race, 13/1 & 5/1.
Laurel: I Wanna Rock, 3rd 21/1, Great Call, 3rd 7/1.
Gulfstream: Bodacious Bren, 2nd 10/1 (just got nipped late), Charlie’s Wish, 3rd 8/1, Avelino, 3rd 9/1, Naa Dudette, 3rd 9/1, Quimichis, 41/1 (just a half length out of 2nd!)
👉And my odds limit was 5/1 in this study, meaning that I included horses that were at those odds or higher. But dozens, literally dozens, of horses at 9/2 and below won or hit the board during the course of this study.
👉👉So, realistically, you could probably even run a modified show parlay using just a small progression and when you hit one of the bigger prices, which you will, your positive returns would skyrocket. Thanks for this!’
Let’s look at some screen shots:
Give this one a try, for sure. You will see, first hand, just how often very, very generous prices, win/place/show show up in the Survivor boxes. And, there is plenty of Consistency with lower priced (1/1 to 9/2) horses as well. 😀You will have a lot of fun with this one!
