Dan Savage’s The Power of Three!!

🤔Did you know that in data research, in general, the number 3 is much more than just one digit

higher than 2?

In otherwords, if you are looking at a data set and averaging performance for just two data points, and then another data point was added to make 3, one might say that the results from the 3 data point set would be 50% more accurate than the 2 data point set, as adding a 1, which is 50% of 2, would yield those results.

👉👉But in actuality, adding that extra digit will make the overall results close to 80% more accurate.  This is especially true in arenas where only a small amount of data can be predictable, like in our game.

So in The Power of Three!, Dan cleverly uses this concept for several critical handicapping factors : recency, speed, class, running position, weight (which plays a significant role in the methodology), overall consistency and odds.

He insists that every horse must be calculated on at least 3 data points, and then three ‘subset’ data points are calculated within those main data points.  And when all the data is compiled you have a system that produces a very high win and in the money %.

The Software also produces a high hit % with Exactas and Trifectas.

Dan tells us: ‘You know how they say many things often happen in ‘3s’.  A famous celebrity dies, for example, and two soon follow, etc.

Well, having lived quite a long time, I’m 67, my observations strongly suggest that patterns of ‘3’ are a valid, seemingly universal phenomena.

I did a lot of research when creating my systems, and found that there was almost something ‘magic’ about the number 3.  I often compared using nine or ten data points to using three or four, and usually found that using too many actually diluted the overall predictability as in our game, it will often include two of more bad performances and bring the overall rating down.

But using just three seemed to avoid the dilution problem, as just one under par performance would not move the needle down all that much.  You will see this in the Power Of Three in it’s extreme consistency and high average win mutuels.’

In our, RPM’s, research, we found everything Dan said was true.

Playing the best bets, which are explained in the manual, you will get a win rate close to 36% and an average win mutuel of $9.67.

Take a look at the examples below.

We found that the Power Of Three! was especially effective when a horse was mentioned twice in the Contender boxes at the bottom of the screen.

Runouts are very minimal and a whole lot of the Best Bet contenders run at least 3rd (87%).  You will also get a good percentage of Exacta payoffs (@41%)

‘You hit a homerun with this one.  I love testing your stuff and you know that I will give you an honest opinion, whether good or bad.  My first love is ‘consistency’ and this program has it in spades.  Plus I love the fact that the average win mutuel is so high.  I got $9.11, which is a bit lower than your study, but still great.  Thanks for this one!’  Dale Bear, Livonis, MI

‘Power Of Three is a pure stroke of genius.  The author proves that the ‘more is better’ theory in thoroughbred research does not hold all that much water.  Very smartly done and super consistent.  Keep up the good work!’ Roger Dreyfuss, Laurel, MD

Power Of Three! will be a great addition to your Handicapping Arsenal.

And, at just $88, it is a bargain to boot! (recommended retail is $118)
