Mid-Summer and, as usual at this time of we have been blessed with several new, exciting , practical winning methodologies which will soon be available in Software.  We finally received permission to program Les Conklin’s Betting Horses to Win! which, like his Payday at the Races, is superb methodology.

Roger Duncan also submitted his Duncan Fast Play System!, which we have found to be remarkable consistent and accurate.

A new Spot Play Software, The Clear Choice Method!, is great for the fan who does not need a whole lot of action but wants to locate the ‘best of the best’ plays on the card.

Dan Savage, who has made a career out of providing data studies to horse racing publishers, like us, has chimed in with his New The Power of Three!, which examines numerous factors in a data-like set that produces superb results.

And our friend, Tom Stone, has done an update on his An Engineer Explains the Mechanics of Winning At the Races’, which he calls The Winning Design Method.

All of these great new methods are on the way Look for them!

Les Conklin is probably best known for his Payday at the Races publication, but did you know that most experienced handicappers and reviewers believe that his Betting Horses to Win!, is Les’s best overall work?  Read this quote from Tom Ainslie which is entitled:

Startling Discoveries that Produce High Percentage Returns

‘While I pride myself on the fact that my books have introduced the inner workings of the Sport of Kings to many a novice player, likely improving their success at the game, I remain in awe of Les Conklin, who took things several steps further in his books and articles. Most notably, his Betting Horses to Win! makes handicapping fast, easy and amazingly accurate.

‘Research by my staff of thousands of races has discovered three of the most powerful types of selections to be found anywhere.  They are presented in easy step-by-step formats that allows the player to use the information at a glance.

‘These discoveries make a radical departure from theories of handicapping that have been used for generations …. and the ‘Power Plays’ based on them produce Astounding results.  The advantages of having three different types of plays from which to select are obvious.  You need not put all your eggs in one basket.

‘No stone was left unturned in making certain that these ‘Power Plays’ would win reasonably often under all conditions.  They were checked and double-checked , not only during different times of the year, but also in different years.  Muddy tracks, good, slow, fast, sloppy, sprints, routes, turf, etc.  Tests were done at all major tracks but it was demonstrated that these methods also work well at small and minor tracks, which have previously have been the bugaboo of many handicappers.

‘I cannot stress strongly enough how important it is for the horseplayer to expose him/herself to Les Conklin’s excellent strategies in Betting Horses to Win!  Your game will definitely improve for the better.’

SOON ON SOFTWARE!!

The Duncan Fast Play System! was developed by handicapper Roger Duncan who, like many players, simply became sick and tired of the effort involved in trying to parse the past performance lines for hours every day to find a winner.

‘So I would spend maybe three or four hours going thru the pps,’, Roger tells us,  ‘marking items that I deemed significant with different colored pens, then decided on my plays, which were usually three or four per day, and then head out for the track.  But so often, soooo often, I’d watch my carefully chosen plays run up the track, and I considered myself a darned good handicapper.

‘I remember one day in particular at Laurel where I had five plays that I considered ‘premium’ best bets.  I knew, just knew that they would all run well and run at least 1st or 2nd.  The reason I remember that day so well is that my first play had a similar name to mine, Dunkin Roger.  No, the name did not influence me at all — he was just a fit and ready runner who I figured would run big at @5/1.

‘Well …  he ran next to last, no excuses.  And then of my next three plays, one ran 7th, another ran next to last and one and one ran 4th.  My 5th play ran 2nd, but the day was a total bomb since I wagered heavily on what I thought were close to ‘sure things’.

‘At that point I decided I had had enough of this emotional roller coaster and decided to take a month off from the track and go back and analyze all of my plays over the past six months, wins and losses, hoping to discover commonalities that would help me improve on the former and avoid the latter.

‘But during this exhaustive exercise I discovered something else, something that one day just jumped off the page at me.  Something that actually appeared when analyzing my losing wagers, and something that I was sure would set me on a winning track at the races for the rest of my days.’

And Roger’s brilliant breakthrough, which he called The Duncan Fast Play System!, not only made it possible for Daily Racing Form readers to go through the pps and find all of the days plays in 12 to 15 minutes, but also produced a 36%+ win rate at an average mutuel of  $8.56 @ a positive ROI of close to 54%!

Soon to be on Software, you will love the consistency of this one!  You can make all of your wagers ahead of time if you wish and find that on most days, using Roger’s suggested wagering strategy, your bankroll will grow.  Coming Soon!

OK, how about a method that does not pick a horse in every race, but when it does find a selection, it is a ‘Clear Advantage’ horse which wins at a high rate and produces a longterm profit?  Well, that is exactly what you have in the new Clear Choice Method!, which focuses on high % situations and telegraphs them instantly to the horseplayer in the new Clear Choice Software Program.

Based heavily on Class Ratings and Recent Form, Clear Choice is a quick and easy way to spot the Best Bets on Every Card.  Top Choices also make for excellent ‘key’ horses in the Exotics.  On the Way!

Dan Savage’s The Power of Three!!

Did you know that in data research, in general, the number 3 is much more than just one digit higher than 2.

In otherwords, if you are looking at a data set and averaging performance for just two data points, and then another data point was added to make 3, one might say that the results from the 3 data point set would be 50% more accurate than the 2 data point set, as adding a 1, which is 50% of 2, would yield those results.  But in actuality, adding that extra digit will make the overall results close to 80% more accurate.  This is especially true in arenas where only a small amount of data can be predictable, like in our game.

So in The Power of Three!, Dan cleverly uses this concept for several critical handicapping factors : recency, speed, class, running position, weight (which plays a significant role in the methodology), overall consistency and odds.

He insists that every horse must be calculated on at least 3 data points, and when all the data is compiled you have a system that produces a very high win and in the money %.  The Software also produces a high hit % with Exactas and TrifectasAvailable soon!

Tom Stone, who published  ‘An Engineer Explains the Mechanics of Winning At the Races’ back in the 1990s, has come up with an update on that methodology which improves on some of the original concepts and increases the overall win/place rate (36% and 58%).

Tom has always believed that almost every type of wagering activity, from casino games to horse racing, can be explained through Engineering Mechanics and tweaked to put the odds in the player’s favor.

With these engineering concepts applied, the result is excellent consistency. You won’t get a lot of bombshell payoffs, but you will see steady cashouts on straight and Exotic wagers.

On Software soon!
